Hope this helps those that are on the fence about these. I live in middle Tennessee and I don't think this state has a straight road in it. 08 Ultra that is loaded down a good portion of the time, and 2 up. For those that don't know my bike or my riding style. Dunlop built the new Elite 4 tires in both bias and radial construction, to appeal to many different types of bikes. The rear currently has 11,396 miles on it and I will replace it in the fall and I expect to get 18,000 out of it.
Unless Dunlop decides to quit making them, or I have to put a 402 on while on the road I will never use anything else. As you can see from the photos that is was starting to cup and was just starting to hit the wear bars. Well today I retired the front tire with an astounding 27,959 miles on the tire. I retired the rear tire with 16,563 miles on it and the only reason was that I was leaving on an extended bike trip and even though it had plenty of tread ( for that many miles ) it was getting noisey and starting to cup bad in places. But these rode real well right up to the point that they needed replacing. I did not get too excited as you pretty much get this feeling every time you put new rubber on a bike, it will ALWAYS ride better on new rubber unless you have a mechanical problem with your sled. The first impression when I had these installed was I noticed a great difference in handling and how the bike reacted to rain grooves, grated bridges, and ground pavement. Actually classified as a "Sport Touring" tire they have a tread pattern that have most Harley/D-402 traditionalist thumbing noses at.
And to sum things up, these are the ones that should have come from the factory. Well I have finished my long term test on these tires.
